Anthropometry

Anthropometry, the study of human measurement and proportions, was a cornerstone of eugenics science. Influenced by 19th century criminologists and the racially-motivated skull measurement studies of physicians like Samuel George Morton, eugenicists argued that physical traits—from forehead angles to fingerprints—were associated with complex behavioral traits such as intelligence and criminality.
